Mama Cleo’s Boys’ Home
Mama Cleo’s is a boys’ home that serves dozens of boys in the Lake Chapala area. While Work Play Love began our mission with the Hogar Miguel Magone for girls in Guatemala, we have now been called to expand our efforts to Mexico. We met Mama Cleo’s through our lovely network of soul warriors who fight the good fight against childhood poverty and homelessness.
Raising The Future
Their mission is in close alignment with ours: To provide a loving home to guide and nurture the development of any boy who does not have family support so they become good men and contribute to society.
When we first encountered Mama Cleo’s and began understanding their infrastructure, we knew they needed help. Fortunately, we have all the experience that nearly a decade of work for orphanages offers, and we knew that we were being called to institute great change on their behalf. We are excited to announce that we have already seen great change as a result of our efforts, and we are standing behind the momentum we have created, letting it draw us and them toward a better and brighter future for these boys. But it’s not just us who are helping them…
What They Need
After losing their last home to eviction, a real-life angel stepped in and bought this charity a HOUSE…an ENTIRE HOUSE!! This property could not have come at a more opportune time. However, there is still work to be done.
Currently, this project requires:
- Running water
- Electricity
- Upgraded septic
- An indoor kitchen
- Upgrades to bedrooms to make them more suitable
- A second story to house all of the boys in one location
We recently received enough donations to install numerous solar panels, but we are not done yet! It’s all hands on deck at Mama Cleo’s, and we are asking for your support to make this house a home for these very deserving boys and the special adults who are stewarding them toward a better future.
